We have settled how elan1 names what it builds. There is one masterbrand and one logo. Underneath it sit four layers of one write path, each named for the job it does.
The four layers
- elan1 Govern — the governed write path for AI agents. The control plane: the only layer that allows, refuses, approves, seals or proves.
- elan1 Work — governed agents for the work that commits your business. It proposes what should change.
- elan1 Decide — typed, calibrated decisions, routed by risk. It proposes the answer.
- elan1 Run — the contract layer and Day-2 operation for the open-source AI stack. It carries every call under contract, with elan1 Govern built in.
Work and Decide propose. Govern and Run assure. Only Govern allows.
What changed
Earlier working names for the Work and Run layers are retired as public names. The small-firm edition is now “elan1 Work for small firms, through your CA”, an edition rather than a separate mark. Direct, SI and OEM deployment is described on the elan1 Run page. What we once called “the elan1 kernel” is elan1 Govern.
Why “layer”
Our body copy says “one write path, four layers”. “Platform” stays as a navigation label only. The point is the shared write path, one record shape and one meter per layer, not a count of products.
All product names remain subject to trademark clearance in India, classes 9 and 42.
