We publish our claims register and what comes next

elan1 has published its claims register and roadmap. The register lists each claim the company makes about its products with the assurance level at which it becomes true, such as tamper-evident at L1 and signed from L2. The roadmap lists what improves next, in order, with no invented dates.

Every claim on the site has its level, and every improvement we are working on is listed in order. L3 Proven applies on auditor acceptance.

L1 and L2 availableL3 on auditor acceptance

A company asks to be trusted on its claims. We would rather be checked. From today the claims register and what’s next are part of the site, and every other page points back to them.

The levels

L1 Guarded gives a tamper-evident proof record, where each record holds the digest of the one before. From L2 Attested, records are signed and checkable offline. Both are available.

L3: on auditor acceptance

L3 Proven applies on auditor acceptance. It starts when an outside auditor accepts an L2 bundle in writing. Putting a date on someone else’s judgement would be the kind of claim this register exists to prevent.

We say. We don’t say.

The claims register lists the words we use and the words we never use. We say “tamper-evident” at L1 and nothing stronger; the stronger words are listed, struck through, in the claims register. We say “enforced” only in Mode A, where the kernel holds the write credential. We hold no certifications today, and every price on the site is a current list price, exclusive of GST.
