Gate

A gate is a check that an AI agent's write must pass before it can be allowed. elan1 Govern runs nine pre-gates, G1 to G9, at rung 3 of the Right Path, and six of them can never be skipped, whatever the autonomy level. A write that fails a gate is refused and still leaves a proof record.

In one sentence: A check a write must pass. Pre-gates G1–G9 run at rung 3; six can never be skipped.

01In more detail

What it means in practice

Gates run against your own data before anything is written. In elan1 Work, G1 Ledger, G2 Stock, G3 Permissions, G4 GST and G8 MCA all run before any write.

A failed gate is a refusal with a typed code. The refusal still writes a proof record and costs 40% of one governed action.

02Where this shows up in elan1

Rung 3 PRE-GATES of the Right Path; elan1 Work builds gates from your own books.
