The Right Path is the fixed route every write takes in elan1 Govern, from rung 0b STOP to rung 9 METERED. On the way it checks identity, opens the write door, runs the pre-gates, evaluates versioned rules, applies a blast-radius guardrail and the autonomy check, acts, writes the proof record and meters the action.
In one sentence: The fixed route every write takes, from rung 0b STOP to rung 9 METERED.
01In more detail
Five plain steps — ask, check, approve, act, record — map onto ten rungs. Any rung can refuse.
Every consequential change takes the same path, wherever it starts: an agent, the Decide router or a person in the console. An undo changes the books too, so it takes the same path and leaves its own record.

No. Every write climbs the same rungs in the same order. At rung 3, six of the nine pre-gates can never be skipped, whatever the autonomy level.
