Mode A (Enforced) is the deployment in which elan1 runs in-process and holds the write credential for the system of record. Because the agent never holds the credential, no write can reach the system without a gate decision and a proof record. It is the only mode in which elan1 describes its rules as enforced.
In one sentence: elan1 in-process, holding the write credential. No write reaches the system of record without a gate decision and a proof record.
01In more detail
In Mode A, elan1 holds the write credential, and only there do we say enforced. The single writer uses a 10-minute single-use credential held by the kernel.
Third-party agents can run in Mode A by agreement, after conformance tests C1–C14 pass.
02Where this shows up in elan1
elan1 Work hosted on ERPNext, through the in-process SDK; the only place we say enforced.
04Questions
In Mode A, elan1 runs in-process and holds the write credential, so no write reaches the system of record without a gate decision and a proof record. In Mode B, elan1 is reached over MCP or HTTP without the credential: every write intent is evaluated and recorded, but enforcement stays with your system.
Only in Mode A, where elan1 holds the write credential for the system of record. In Mode B, elan1 says evaluated and recorded, never enforced or blocked.
