Plane

A plane is one of nine levels in elan1's reference architecture, from P0 residency to P8 packs. The kernel, which performs every governed write, sits at P3. Planes keep concerns apart, so residency, identity, the write path, evidence and configuration can each change without weakening the others.

In one sentence: One of nine architecture levels, P0 residency to P8 packs; the kernel is P3.
