Residency domain

A residency domain is a region with its own database and its own signing key. Today elan1 has one, "in", in Mumbai. Proof records stay in the domain they were written in, and L2 signatures use that domain's key. Gulf and EU domains open only on a signed contract.

In one sentence: A region with its own database and signing key. Today there is one: "in" (Mumbai).

01In more detail

What it means in practice

Domain "in" runs on AWS ap-south-1 (Mumbai) across three zones. A cross-domain query is not slow; it is impossible.

New regions open only on a signed contract, never a forecast; no US region is offered.
