L1 Guarded

L1 Guarded is elan1 Govern's first assurance level. Every proof record is SHA-256 hash-chained to the one before, so any change to an earlier record is evident to you when you recompute the chain. It is tamper-evident, not tamper-proof: it shows that a change happened, rather than claiming one is impossible.

In one sentence: Records hash-chained so any change is evident to you. Available.

01In more detail

What it means in practice

L1 asks "Can I let this run?" It adds the Right Path, approvals, a single writer and a tamper-evident record you can read.

At L1 you check a record by recomputing its digest and comparing it with prev_digest on the next record. Tamper-evident to you; not signed.
